Why are my affiliates "Blocked" by Rewardful?

Written by Emmet Gibney

You may notice that one of your affiliates is marked as Blocked by Rewardful in your Rewardful dashboard. This means Rewardful Support has blocked the affiliate's account for a violation of our Terms of Service.

This article explains what this status means, how it affects your affiliate program, and what you can do if the affiliate has unpaid commissions.

Why is an affiliate blocked by Rewardful?

Rewardful Support may block an affiliate account when the affiliate has violated our Terms of Service.

When this happens, the affiliate's status is updated to Blocked by Rewardful in your dashboard. You'll see this status wherever the affiliate appears, including your affiliate list, payouts, commissions, referrals, and the affiliate's detail page.

You can hover over or click the information icon next to the status to confirm that the affiliate was blocked by Rewardful Support.

Can I reactivate a blocked affiliate?

No. When an affiliate is blocked by Rewardful Support, you cannot reactivate their account or change their status yourself. Only Rewardful Support can change this status.

You also cannot impersonate a blocked affiliate.

What happens to the affiliate's unpaid commissions?

If the affiliate has unpaid commissions, you'll see a notice on their detail page explaining that their account has been blocked and showing their outstanding balance.

You have two options:

  • Void all unpaid commissions. Click Void all unpaid commissions in the notice to void the affiliate's unpaid commissions.

  • Leave the commissions payable. If you don't void the commissions, they remain payable, allowing the affiliate to withdraw them.

The notice includes the void action only when there are unpaid commissions available to void. If there is no unpaid balance, you'll still see the notice explaining that the account has been blocked, but without the button.

Important: Consider your decision carefully before voiding commissions, as this action affects the affiliate's outstanding balance.

Will I receive an email notification?

No. Rewardful does not send merchants an email notification when an affiliate is blocked by Rewardful Support.

Instead, you can identify blocked affiliates directly in your Rewardful dashboard through the status badge and the notice on the affiliate's detail page.
