You can choose to pay a commission on all invoices, or limit commissions to a specific number of invoices (ex: first invoice only, first 3 invoices, etc).
We generally recommend paying a recurring 30% commission, but maximum commissions may be a better fit for some businesses.
This article will show you how to setup both recurring commissions and maximum commissions. You can modify these settings when creating a new campaign or updating an existing campaign.
Recurring commissions
The screenshot below shows how to set up a campaign that will pay a 30% commission on every invoice paid by a referred customer. Simply leave "Maximum commissions per customer" blank and Rewardful will process a commission on every eligible invoice.
Example: Alice refers Bob, who signs up for your $100/mo plan. Alice will get $30 for every $100 invoice that Bob pays you, indefinitely.
One-time commissions
This example demonstrates how to configure a campaign that will pay a 30% commission on the first invoice only. Set "Maximum commissions per customer" to 1.
Example: Alice refers Bob, who signs up for your $100/mo plan. Alice will get:
$30 for Bob's first $100 invoice
No commission on Bob's second, third, etc. invoices
Limited commissions
These are effectively the same as one-time commissions but with a different value for "Maximum commissions per customer." The screenshot below shows how to configure a campaign that pays commissions on the first three invoices paid by a customer only.
Example: Alice refers Bob, who signs up for your $100/mo plan. Alice will get:
$30 for Bob's first $100 invoice
$30 for Bob's second $100 invoice
$30 for Bob's third $100 invoice
No commission on Bob's fourth, fifth, etc. invoice
